THE AREA

Mahahual is located south of Tulum. It is a quiet and little-known small fishing village, perfect for vacationing on the Costa Maya, which comes alive when cruise ships arrive at its port. It is home to the largest coral atoll in Mexico. That is why it is positioned as a paradise for diving lovers, as it also has the Banco Chinchorro Biosphere Reserve just an hour away by boat. This area is part of the second largest reef in the world where there are also more than 60 ships that have been shipwrecked since the 16th. century. The property is located in Puerto Angel, 16.16 mi south of downtown Mahahual. In front of the lots, a few meters out to sea is a reef, ideal for snorkeling. Discover various types of grouper and small fish, starfish, snail, crab and lobster going about your usual daily activities on the reef. Also in this area between the months of June and November sea turtles come to nest every year. The local community is very committed to caring for the turtles and their nests. In addition, there is a turtle camp that together with the help of volunteers join this great activity to have clean beaches and have a turtle nesting free of plastic.
